Have AC Milan signed Liverpool-linked goalkeeper?

The Italian outfit have supposedly been negotiating a move for Diego Lopez from Real Madrid this week.

Real Madrid goalkeeper Diego Lopez could be on the verge of joining AC Milan after the club's official television channel began displaying his picture. Liverpool were also reported to be wanting his signature, but the Spaniard looks Italy-bound.

Lopez is thought to have been forced out of Madrid by the arrival of Keylor Navas from Levante, while the European champions also made the decision to keep the long-serving Iker Casillas instead of him.

A report in Marca claims that only personal terms now sit in the way of a deal being done between the two clubs, leaving Chelsea and Monaco’s reported pursuit of the Spaniard looking unlikely.

Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti is said to be including Lopez in his pre-season preparations whilst he is still present, and will even take him to Cardiff for the UEFA Super Cup final on Tuesday, although he is not likely to play any part.

Lopez played 36 of Madrid’s 38 La Liga games last season, while Casillas featured in Champions League and the Copa del Rey matches.

He was first introduced on the scene regularly by Jose Mourinho when he controversially dropped Casillas in the 2012/13 season. Ancelotti did little to change that stance with regard to the league matches, yet Lopez is still the one being forced out.

Lopez is expected to be allowed to leave the Bernabeu for free and will reportedly hold out for the entirety of his earnings from the contract he signed.

But in what has been a summer of premature hints regarding signings, Milan’s television coverage that features Lopez suggests that it won’t be long until he is officially unveiled.

Will Diego Lopez be a success at AC Milan?
