All the latest transfer news and gossip from The Emirates this morning.
Arsenal have been linked with a move for Shakhtar Donetsk attacking midfielder Douglas Costa in some circles this month, with many believing Arsene Wenger would be happy to sign the former Gremio man on loan for the season.
Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be keen on Costa - who moved to Ukraine in 2010. The 23-year-old wants a move away from Ukraine as he is not comfortable in the country after recent events regarding the conflict with Russia - and he is reportedly desperate for a move.
But Shakhtar have released a statement which would suggest Arsenal are out of the running for the player - as he is extortionately expensive:
"Everyone says that Costa's goodbye is close, but the club has not received any proposals and his buyout clause is €50 million."
Arsenal are unlikely to spend that sort of money on the player, and if there was ever any definitive interest The Gunners are unlikely to move on it.
Arsenal sold Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona yesterday in a £15 million deal. The Belgian's departure means Arsenal are looking for a new central defender, and they are being linked with a player heavily suggested to be a Manchester United target - Mats Hummels.
The Borussia Dortmund player is said to be valued at around £30 million - but is reportedly keen on a Dortmund stay after being made captain.
Reports recently have suggested Arsenal are out of the market for Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira - with Wenger confirming he has not made an approach for the World Cup star.
However reports this morning suggest Arsenal will move for Khedira - but are waiting to make a deadline day swoop, just as they did for his friend and former team-mate Mesut Ozil last summer.
Should The Gunners move for Hummels?
