Brazil legend Cafu raves about Arsenal on Twitter

Brazil legend Cafu had not expected Arsenal to beat Manchester City.

Arsenal won a new admirer with their impressive defeat of Manchester City at Wembley, and a high profile one at that.

Two-time World Cup winner Cafu revealed on Twitter that he had been taken aback by the strong display from the Gunners.

Cafu had earlier tipped Manuel Pellegrini's Manchester City side to emerge victorious.

Cafu's later comment underlines the feeling that those outside the club are now realising that the club are genuine contenders.

While the Community Shield is neither here nor there, the way they calmly dispatched Manchester City showed their strength, especially as they were missing key stars.

City were without Kompany, Aguero and Negredo to name a few, but the Gunners were shorn of Per Mertesacker, Mesut Ozil and Theo Walcott.

When a player as acclaimed and decorated as Cafu, describes a team as a 'very good side', it's time for others to sit up and take notice if they were not already.

Will Arsenal add more trophies this coming season?
