Manchester United target Arturo Vidal may not have played for Juventus in their last two pre-season friendly matches, but that has not stopped him from enjoying the occasions.
The Chile international is currently recovering from a knee injury that he picked before the 2014 World Cup. Although the 27-year-old midfielder did play in the tournament in Brazil for his country, he is not being rushed back by his club.
Vidal did not feature in the Italian champions’ pre-season friendly game against the SL Stars at Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Jakarta last week, and coach Massimiliano Allegri did not name him in his team to face the A-League All-Stars at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney on Sunday either (click here to read more).
The world-class midfielder, who has been strongly linked with a move to United this summer, has continued to train in an effort to regain his fitness ahead of the 2014-15 season.
Vidal is one of the many star players in the Juventus team and one of the best in the world, and no wonder that fans in Sydney were eager to get a picture with him.
Vidal himself has been quite willing to have his picture taken with the football fans in Australia, although he has been less forthcoming about his future in regard to a move to United.
Although Juventus have insisted time and time again that they will not sell the former Colo-Colo midfielder, the player himself has remained coy on his interest in joining the Red Devils.
There have been recent reports that the Premier League giants’ new manager Louis van Gaal is not pressing ahead with the move because he has concerns about Vidal’s knee.
If the United boss eventually decides not to pursue his interest in Vidal, then there will be one clear winner in this transfer saga: Juventus.
Is Arturo Vidal the best midfielder in the world?
