Calum Chambers has wasted no time looking towards the future and is already aiming to get international recognition.

Arsenal new-boy Calum Chambers is already looking towards the future and wants to make an impact at international level as well as for his club.

Chambers arrived at the Emirates this summer for £16 million and he has taken no-time adapting to the Gunners.

His showings in an Arsenal shirt so far have been mightily impressive for a player who is only 19-years-old and his initial displays have obviously given him confidence that he can reach the very top of the game.

"That’s what I’m aiming to do [play for England] and that’s my ambition," he told the FA.com.

"Only time will tell what happens now, but I just want to play as well as I can for my club and see what happens."

The former Southampton man played 21 times last season and it was initially expected that he would do well to make anywhere near that mark in Arsene Wenger’s side.

However, his performances in his initial starts for the Gunners have made people reconsider this opinion – with many thinking he has an immediate future in the first-team at the Emirates.

Despite playing as a right-back for most of his burgeoning career so far, he has been utilised at the heart of Arsenal’s defence during his first appearances for the club and looked equally as impressive.

Chambers is one of a clutch of talented academy products to come through at St. Mary’s over recent times, but there is a feeling that he is the most talented of the group.

Luke Shaw and Adam Lallana, both England internationals already, also moved from the south-coast club this summer, but Chambers has been tipped to surpass the talented duo.

If he is to do so, he certainly will need to impress on the international stage as England look to improve on their dismal display at the World Cup this summer.

Will Chambers be better than Shaw?
