Milan linked to departing QPR man

AC Milan's transfer campaign has a Queens Park Rangers flavour with the Italian side being linked to Stephane Mbia as well as Adel Taarabt.

AC Milan have made contact with the agent of former Queens Park Rangers midfielder Stephane Mbia, according to the Italian press.

A report in Tuttosport claims that Milan are keen to add the Cameroon international to their ranks as part of their low-cost transfer campaign.

Mbia became a free agent this summer after his contract at Loftus Road wasn't renewed and he has caught the eye of Milan vice-president Adriano Galliani.

Galliani is already chasing current QPR man Adel Taarabt, who spent the end of last season on loan at San Siro and could arrive permanently before the transfer window closes.

The Italian giants struggled last season and didn't even qualify for the Europa League and they have limited cash to spend with Mario Balotelli looking likely to stay put.

La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Mbia is an attractive proposition on a free transfer, but Milan will have to fight off interest from Rubin Kazan and Galatasaray.

Milan's new boss Pippo Inzaghi is keen to stamp his mark on the squad and may have recommended Mbia in a bid to strengthen a midfield that looked flimsy at times last term.
