Arsenal and Manchester United fans excited by the prospect of World Cup winning defender Mats Hummels, 25, joining their clubs after summer-long speculation may loathe to see the images above.
Over the course of the weekend, Borussia Dortmund named Hummels as their new club captain - and, judging from the images above, it is a responsibility that the player will savour.
In the first picture, Hummels is seen smiling as he poses for the official photography to kick-start the new club season, with Dortmund having clearly healed themselves after the 4-0 slaughter to Liverpool on Sunday and ready for the next test that lies ahead - a German Super Cup showdown against the German football machine; Bayern Munich.
In the central photo, Hummels shares a joke with Matthias Ginter, while the bottom photo is the shot from the back as the squad as a whole line up for the official club photo.
Hummels, of course, is central in the final shot.
Previous reports indicated that Manchester United were readying a £29.5 million offer for the Dortmund defender, while Arsenal were embroiled in a two-way battle for the player's signature after Thomas Vermaelen was sold to Barcelona.
Do you think Hummels looks happy at Dortmund? Can the rumours linking the player with Manchester United and Arsenal be put to rest?
