Report: Hernandez and Fellaini could be Vidal bargaining chips

Arturo Vidal

There are reports in Italy that Manchester United could add Javier Hernandez and Marouane Fellaini to their bid for Arturo Vidal.

As Manchester United's protracted pursuit of Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal continues, the Italian media have suggested that two unsettled players could be dragged into the deal.

Arguably the summer's biggest transfer saga rolls on with Manchester United attempting to lure Chilean international Vidal from Italian champions Juventus.

The Bianconeri have so far seemed to fend off all advances for their prized asset, but with each passing day the speculation intensifies rather than dissipates.

Louis van Gaal's club appear to be piling on the pressure, according to media reports, and the latest suggestion is that they could try and make the Vidal deal a part-exchange.

Italian TV station Rai Sport has claimed that United are considering offering Mexican striker Javier Hernandez and Belgian international Marouane Fellaini as part of the deal.

Hernandez would be a logical addition because Juventus have been forced back to the market for a striker after new boy Alvaro Morata suffered a knee injury in training, but Fellaini is less obvious and is currently a target for Napoli.

It is not stated in the reports whether the two men would be in addition to the reported £50 million that Juventus have supposedly already rejected or if that sum would be reduced slightly.

Rai Sport believes that Vidal's agent Fernando Felicevich is in Manchester this week to try and help United mastermind the bid that will allow his client to join the Premier League side.

It is suggested that the Red Devils could be willing to break the bank but will need assurances over Vidal's knee, which has been a concern.

How much is Arturo Vidal really worth?
