Reports late on Tuesday evening suggested that Moreno was on the verge of a £12m move to Anfield after Sevilla dropped the 22-year-old from their squad for tonight's European Super Cup final clash with Real Madrid - and now, the Reds have confirmed a deal has been agreed, and Moreno will sign for the club pending a medical.
"Liverpool can confirm they have reached an agreement with Sevilla for the transfer of Spain international full-back Alberto Moreno," read a Liverpool statement.
"The Reds will proceed with the formalities of finalising the deal for the 22-year-old over the coming days and will make no further announcement until it is complete."
After Jose Enrique suffered a season-ending injury last term, manager Brendan Rodgers was forced to play right backs Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan on the left hand side, and snapping up another natural left back had to be a priority.
Now, Moreno looks poised to complete his move to Merseyside, joining Javi Manquillo, Dejan Lovren, Emre Can, Adam Lallana, Lazar Markovic and Rickie Lambert at Anfield, whilst Divock Origi also signed before rejoining Lille on loan - which would make Moreno the club's eighth summer signing as they chase the Premier League title.
