Tottenham Hotspur have tonight confirmed the signing of Seattle Sounders right back DeAndre Yedlin, who starred at the World Cup this summer.

Spurs continue to bring in young talent having wrapped up the signing of Seattle Sounders full back DeAndre Yedlin, with the United States international joining the likes of Ben Davies and Eric Dier at White Hart Lane. Well, at least he will eventually. As part of the deal, Yedlin will head back to Seattle on a season-long loan deal before joining Spurs next summer ahead of the 2015/16 season.

Yedlin, 21, made a name for himself at the World Cup in Brazil this summer - even though he didn't start a game. He replaced Fabian Johnson in the last 16 clash with Belgium, and turned in a superb display at right back as Jurgen Klinsmann's men took the Belgians all the way to extra time.

The likes of Roma and Liverpool were then linked with moves to take Yedlin to Europe, but it's Spurs who have landed the youngster on a four-year deal as new manager Mauricio Pochettino continues to add young talent - something he's been renowned for during his short managerial career so far.

"I’m very excited to come to the Premier League & challenge myself against some of the best players in the world," said Yedlin. "The facilities are the best in Europe, if not the world. It’s a great team. I’m very excited. It’s a great team with a new coach and a style that suits the way I play. That’s a big reason I made the decision."

Yedlin also admitted that USA boss Klinsmann played a big part in his decision to join Spurs, who enjoyed two fruitful spells at White Hart Lane.

Are you excited by Yedlin's arrival at White Hart Lane?
