Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard was not so long ago, battling with David de Gea for the club's number one spot.
Now with the Spaniard fulfilling the potential greatness he was always touted for, Lindegaard has been left benchwarming.
Now 30, the Dane is said to be considering his options, and this week rumours emerged that his contract would be terminated by mutual consent to help him find a club.
Lindegaard's agent Michael Stensgaard has dismissed these, but admitted the goalkeeper is considering an exit from Manchester United.
SkySports quote him as stating: "There is no truth at all in the speculation that his contract has been terminated.
"Anders would consider staying in England, but he is actually open to other opportunities too.
"The important thing is the package is right considering the family, the sport ambitions and of course the finances."
Losing Lindegaard would be a blow for United, leaving only Ben Amos as back-up for David de Gea. It would perhaps be the opening the former England under-21 star would have hoped for, but with Louis van Gaal critical of him in pre-season, it would not be unlikely if the Red Devils brought in another back-up.
Lindegaard has given United four-and-a-half seasons of service, yet played only 19 Premier League games, only one last season. Allowing him to move on if he finds an offer he is happy with would only be fair.
Which club do you feel would be a good fit for Lindegaard?
