Robert Kirkman, the creator of The Walking Dead has taken to Steam to reveal his company, Skybound Entertainment are joining forces with Payday 2 developers, Overkill and Starbreeze to bring a new game of The Walking Dead.

I’m happy to say that it’s the co-op game that all of the Walking Dead fans have been waiting for.”
To honour the announcement Kirkman also stated that Negan’s trusty barbed-wire baseball bat “Lucille” is now available to download for the PC version of Payday 2
Following the reveal, a prepared statement from Starbreeze CEO Andersson Klint notes, “The collaboration between Starbreeze Studios and our partner Skybound Interactive will deliver something uniquely exciting for our millions of fans. We’re two independents joining forces to create the ultimate survival horror game. With Robert on the team, we will bring The Walking Dead into the world of first-person shooter co-op games.”
In contrast to the success of The Walking Dead Telltale series the last attempt at a Walking Dead styled shooter, The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct, was slated as a poor adaptation of the TV series.
