The mythical Himalayan utopia needs the help of your FPS skills

Not content with rewriting French revolutionary history in Assassin’s Creed: Unity, Ubisoft are going one further by bringing the legend of Shangri-La alive in their upcoming Far Cry sequel.

A new trailer for Far Cry 4 is detailing the fictional land of Kyrat in the game, flying through its stunning Himalayan vistas and showing the unrest brought to the area in the midst of civil war.

Beyond lending your gaming talents to bring about peace in Kyrat, you’ll also be tasked with clearing the threat of evil from the mythological realm of Shangri-La, which you can visit spiritually.

A preview for Far Cry 4 notes, “"players will discover the legend of Shangri-La through five poems, or chapters scattered throughout the world of Kyrat.

"When players uncover one of these markers, they will being to meditate, and step into the legend themselves. As an ancient Kyrat warrior sent by his king to discover the mountain paradise, the player soon finds the utopia invaded by dark forces. With the paradise's feline protector at their side, the cleansing begins."
