Assassin’s Creed Rogue naval combat has plenty of new features

Assassins Creed Rogue Icesheet Breaking Morrigan 1

Ubisoft give everyone a play-by-play of how the sailing and ship battles work in the final last gen addition to the Assassin’s Creed universe.

After some leaks were floating about the internet of a new Assassin’s Creed title, it seemingly prompted Ubisoft to officially announce Assassin’s Creed Rogue shortly after. In the game you play as a Templar who was previously part of the Assassins Brotherhood, and has gone rogue. Playing as a Templar is sure to bring an interesting new perspective to the Assassin’s Creed series.

Unlike the current gen game, Assassin’s Creed Unity, Rogue will bring back the naval combat seen in AC Black Flag, allowing players to command a ship called the ‘The Morrigan.’ Whilst aboard the ship you can utilise many different weapons to aid you in your naval battles.

In the video below we’re talked through an 8 minute demo by Michael Hampden, lead game designer on the title. You’ll see new weapons and features of the naval combat, as well as the great-looking scenery. An ice breaker ram upgrade is also shown, which allows your ship to… you’ve guessed it, break through sheet ice. Take a look at what you'll be doing on the sea in the below video.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue is due for release on 11th November 2014 for PS3 and Xbox 360.
