Oscar said he could not refuse Didier Drogba's request to have his old shirt back.
Chelsea playmaker Oscar has revealed how it was not a dilemma at all to hand over his old shirt to Didier Drogba.
The Brazilian has worn Drogba's old number 11 shirt for the past two seasons, but the club revealed today that Oscar has switched to number 8.
This was after a personal request from the Ivorian to have his old shirt back.
And Oscar revealed on twitter, that he felt he could not turn the Champions League winning striker down.
I couldn't say no to this @chelseafc Football Club legend that is coming back home.— Oscar (@oscar8) August 15, 2014
It shows the esteem in which Drogba is held by the more junior members of the squad like Oscar, even though the Brazilian is a surefire bet to make more starts than the returnee this coming season.
Drogba, at 36, may just have only the one season at Chelsea left in him, before moving fully into a coaching role, and if so - Oscar will not have long to wait at all to get his number 11 back if he really wants it.
