VIDEO: Former Arsenal loanee gives away penalty in 4-0 thrashing

Kim Kallstrom playing for Spartak Moscow

Kim Kallstrom had a day to forget at the office yesterday.

Arsenal fans had high expectations of the January Transfer Window. They were particulary keen to see a new striker arrive at the club - to help out the clearly tiring Olivier Giroud.

But what they didn’t expect is what they got … Kim Kallstrom.

The Swedish midfielder was probably not needed at the club, but Arsene Wenger was keen on bringing in the Spartak Moscow man to add some depth to the club - so snapped him up on loan until the end of the season.

But it was not a very successful spell at the club. Kallstrom was injured from the get-go, and a serious back injury saw him on the medics table for the majority of his stay.

So, at the end of his loan deal, Arsenal opted against making a go at a permanent move and the Swede returned to Russia for the 2014-15 campaign.

But Kallstrom and Spartak had a day to forget last night, as for the second season in a row they were thrashed 4-0 by FC Krasnodar.

Goals from Marat Izmailov, former Spartak striker Ari and Russian international Vladimir Bystrov had them 3-0 up just after the hour mark and then Kallstrom gave away a penalty with a clumsy foul on Ari - with the penalty duly dispatched by Joazinho.

Arsenal fans are probably glad Kallstrom isn't on the books anymore.

Would you welcome Kallstrom back to The Emirates?
