A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

Following Brendan Rodgers’ comments that he will look to sign new players right up until the transfer window closes, two world-class front-men have been linked with an Anfield switch.

The Mirror reports that Radamel Falcao and Edinson Cavani remain targets for the Reds, as they seek to replace the goals and the inspiration of former striker Luis Suarez.

Either player would be an outstanding addition but they will not come cheap considering the pair made their previous moves – to Monaco and Paris Saint-Germain respectively – for a combined £105million.

In other news, the same newspaper has picked up on reports from Spain that Marco Reus will not be joining Atletico Madrid this summer.

The long-term Liverpool target was tipped to make the switch from Germany to Spain. However, Atletico’s chief scout was quoted as saying that Reus was not on the agenda.

That comes as something of a surprise given that he is one of the most impressive attacking players in Europe. But it will be good news for those Liverpool fans still hoping the Borussia Dortmund player ultimately arrives at Anfield.
