The new 2014-15 Premier League season gets underway later today, and Manchester United midfielder Juan Mata is looking forward to it.
The Spain international took to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at the start of the new campaign.
United have indeed much to look forward to this term under new manager Louis van Gaal and will be determined to kick off their campaign with victory over Swansea City at Old Trafford.
Last season the Red Devils finished as low as seventh in the league under David Moyes, who was sacked as the Manchester outfit’s manager.
With Van Gaal in charge of the 20-tme English champions, there is renewed hope and optimism at United that they can claim the championship this term.
The Dutchman has arrived in English football with a massive pedigree, although so far he has managed to add just two major players to the squad: midfielder Ander Herrera and defender Luke Shaw.
However, United will still head into the 2014-15 season as one of the favourites and will be a threat under Van Gaal. There is still time for the 63-year-old to sign his intended transfer targets, and if he does, then the Red Devils will be a real force.
How important will Juan Mata be for Manchester United this season?
