Liverpool’s Jose Enrique pokes fun at Manchester United loss on Twitter

The Spaniard labelled it the ‘first good news of the season.’

Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique won’t be making many friends in Manchester this afternoon after making fun of Man United’s 2-1 loss to Swansea City on Twitter.

That is just what the Reds defender will want, however, with the 28-year-old no doubt further endearing himself to the Kop thanks to his antics.

After Manchester United kicked off the Premier League season with a 2-1 defeat to the Swans at Old Trafford, Enrique was rather cheerful on social media, tweeting:

Ki Sung-Yueng gave the visitors the lead before United captain Wayne Rooney equalised with an acrobatic effort.

However, Gylfi Sigurdsson struck as Swansea regained the lead, with Louis van Gaal’s side unable to bounce back a second time.

While United fans watched on in horror, though, many Liverpool fans up and down the country may have echoed the thoughts of their full-back.

The Reds will open their own league campaign against Southampton on Sunday, with Enrique having declared himself fit for selection.

Liverpool are expected to complete the signing of left-back Alberto Moreno in the coming days but he has not yet been registered in time to play against the Saints, leaving the door open for Enrique to finally make his Premier League return after last term’s injury-plagued season.

Will United bounce back from their defeat to Swansea?
