West London latest: Fernandes & Redknapp upbeat at QPR, Fulham lose again

The latest reaction to Queens Park Rangers and Fulham's Premier League and Championship results.

QPR

QPR owner Tony Fernandes is remaining upbeat despite seeing his side lose their opening league game against Hull City.

James Chester scored the winner for the visitors as Steve Bruce's side left Loftus Road with a 1-0 victory.

However, Fernandes is remaining positive about his side's situation, suggesting that their performance was far superior to how the Rs used to play in the Premier League.

The QPR owner also revealed that manager Harry Redknapp was in a similarly positive state of mind after the game.

Fulham

Felix Magath's Fulham side made it two defeats out of two against Millwall on Saturday afternoon.

For the second week in a row, the Cottagers dominated possession, registering more than 60 per cent of it, but failed to score as Ian Holloway's side won 1-0.

By contrast, that was Millwall's second league win out of two - and third in a row in all competitions

Fulham, meanwhile, were coming off the back of similar defeat to Ipswich Town, when they were beaten 2-1 by Mick McCarthy's men.

It was Martyn Woolford that struck the killer blow for the visitors in the first half.

Fulham's next Championship action comes against Wolves on Wednesday night. Last season, there was a whole division between the sides, as Wolves were in League One and Fulham in the Premier League.
