Leeds United owner Massimo Cellino is looking to use his Italian connections once more ahead of the transfer window deadline at the end of the month.
The Italian supreme has already brought in six Italian-based stars this summer and that could be seven if reports in Italy are to be believed.
According to the Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, Cagliari midfielder Adryan is hoping to get the all clear to join Leeds this week. It is unclear whether a permanent or loan deal is on the table.
Described as a creative midfielder with lots of promise, Adryan displays excellent footwork, technique and vision and was dubbed a wonderkid by the Brazilian media.
The 19-year-old shot to promise in his native Brazil with a string of fine performances for the Brazilian U17 side during the South American Championships and FIFA U17 World Cup.
It was there where he notched eight goals in 14 games leading to links with moves to Manchester United, though he decided to stay and focus on his young career with Flamengo.
Adryan only joined Serie A outfit Cagliari in January 2014 and following an impressive six months he was given the number 10 shirt ahead of this season.
In new reports, however, Cagliari coach Zdenek Zeman has decided to allow the Brazilian to leave following approaches from Championship outfit Leeds and dropped him from Saturday’s friendly clash with Celta Vigo.
Should the deal be completed, Adryan would undoubtedly be a major coup for Cellino’s team and he has the potential to create a real buzz around Elland Road.
