Luis Enrique refuses to rule out more business at Barcelona - Liverpool, United affected?

Liverpool and Manchester United could be affected by Luis Enrqiue's comments that Barcelona may not be finished in the transfer market.

Barcelona manager Luis Enrique has suggested that his side’s transfer business may not be completely over for the summer.

Barca recently secured the services of former Arsenal captain Thomas Vermaelen in seemingly their last deal of the summer, but Enrique hasn’t ruled out further activity at the Nou Camp.

“I'm not saying it's closed. Not me, nor anyone at the club. You always look to strengthen and you always have to be the strongest,” he said in an interview with AS.

The key question for some fans in the Premier League is whether their sides are going to be affected by Barca’s plans over the next couple of weeks.

Manchester United have already been beaten to Vermaelen, but they could now focus on other defensive targets Barca have been linked with, who the Nou Camp side have been tipped to sign.

Mats Hummels would have been a good example, were he not named new Borussia Dortmund captain for the coming season.

Liverpool reportedly have an invested interest in wide midfielder Pedro but previous reports have suggested that Enrique is sweet on the Spaniard and wants to use him over the course of the coming season.

Barca have done most of their main transfer business already so it’s arguable that any further additions to the squad could mirror the recent deal for Jeremy Mathieu from Valencia.

The big names have been added in key positions; Luis Suarez in attack, Claudio Bravo in goal and Vermaelen in the back four.

The rest of the side is already extremely well balanced so squad cover appears to be the most likely way for Barca to add further.

Therefore, the main pieces of business Barca have left to do could be focused on players leaving the club and that’s where Liverpool, Manchester United or any other side could benefit.

There are still two weeks left to go in the transfer window and plenty of business could still happen.

What do you expect from Barcelona over the next two weeks?
