The Pokemon Company have revealed the newest mega evolution in the Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire games due out later this year.

Following the conclusion of the 2014 Pokémon World Championships in Washington, DC, this weekend, those who attended were treated to a video showcasing the Mega-Evolved Slowbro, who will appear in Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire.

A water and psychic-type Pokémon, Slowbro is one of two evolved forms of Slowpoke, with the other form being Slowking. When Slowbro Mega Evolves into Mega Slowbro, the Shellder on its tail moves to encase Slowbro as a kind of armour worn on his body.

The 'Shell Armour' ability of Mega Slowbro prevents opponents from landing critical hits. His defense and Sp. Atk also increase due to his mega evolved form. Take a look at the video of him in action below.

Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokémon Alpha Sapphire are due for release on 21st November in Japan and North America, and 28th November in Europe, for Nintendo 3DS and 2DS.
