Luis Suarez was officially unveiled in front of Barcelona fans for the first time ahead of Monday's friendly against Mexican side Leon, before later making his debut as a substitute in the 6-0 win.

Luis Suarez has finally been presented to Barcelona fans at the Camp Nou, 31 days after completing his £75 million move from Liverpool.

Unveiled before Monday night’s Joan Gamper Trophy match against Mexican outfit Leon, Suarez walked out onto the pitch for the first time in a Barca shirt, as he was presented alongside the club’s six other summer signings, Jeremy Mathieu Marc-Andre ter Stegen, Rafinha, Ivan Rakitic, Thomas Vermaelen and Claudio Bravo.

The Uruguayan had been banned from all football-related activity for four months by Fifa, after biting Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini during the World Cup group game between the two countries.

Completing his move to the Nou Camp a few weeks after, his suspension meant, though, that he could not attend matches, train with his teammates or be presented to the media and fans.

However, the Court of Arbitration for Sport declared on Thursday that, while the length of his playing ban would stand, the 27-year-old would be permitted to both practise with the Catalan club and take part in friendlies.

Starting on the substitute bench, the prolific striker was later introduced in the 77th minute to rousing applause, as his side went on to record an emphatic 6-0 win in their pre-season finale, ahead of the weekend’s La Liga kick-off against Elche.

Suarez, however, will have to wait until October 25 when his ban ends to make his competitive debut, which could very well come the next day against heated-rivals Real Madrid.
