Spanish press claim Sami Khedira's agent is in London for talks

Sami Khedira warming up

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira could be available for as little as €15 million, with Arsenal and Chelsea both holding talks with the player's agent.

With "deadwood" defensive midfielder Sami Khedira seemingly frozen out of first-team duty for Real Madrid having failed to even make the substitutes bench during the 2-0 UEFA Super Cup victory over Sevilla and unlikely to feature in the upcoming Copa del Rey matches against Atletico Madrid, the World Cup winner is a lock to leave Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

What is not certain, however, is the question of when.

Arsenal and Chelsea are just two Premier League sides who have reportedly expressed interest in offering Khedira career salvation, but Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger allegedly baulked at the player's £150,000 per week wage demands while Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho apparently told Khedira to wait it out in Spain for a year so he could capitalise on a Bosman transfer.

According to the latest reports from Spain, there is no way back for the 27-year-old.

Exorbitant salary expectation was the catalyst for "contract renewal break down" according to MARCA and the club refuse to allow Khedira the opportunity to leave on a free basis next summer - they are even prepared to do a deal for €15 million (£12 million) - less than half the originally estimated sum of €30 million or £24 million.

"Khedira's agent will fly over to London this week to speak with Chelsea and Arsenal to try and find a destination for the German international," the report in MARCA and Daily Express, claimed. "The player is not included on Ancelotti's list for the European Super Cup game – a clear message that he is now persona non grata at the Bernabeu.

"The player's price stands at around €15 million."

While the addition of a World Cup winner for £12 million would represent a serious bargain for either Arsenal or Chelsea, a third club has entered the frame as Bayern Munich are looking for cover following Javi Martinez's injury.

Is the Khedira to Arsenal or Chelsea transfer still on or will Real Madrid man return to Germany amid Bayern Munich interest?
