Tuttosport: Only £40m plus in immediate cash could land Vidal

Arturo Vidal

Italian newspaper Tuttosport believes that Arturo Vidal is likely to stay at Juventus and only a bid of over £40 million in cash could change that.

Arturo Vidal is expected to feature for Juventus in the TIM Trophy on Saturday and the Italian press believe that the chances of him leaving are decreasing with each day.

The Chilean international is said to be the primary target for Manchester United, but as yet there doesn't seem to have been a concrete bid.

Juventus reportedly set Italian national holiday Ferragosto on August 15 as a cut-off date to consider offers and now coach Max Allegri believes Vidal will stay.

And the Italian papers seem to agree with the Bianconeri boss with Tuttosport stating that only an immediate bid of at least £40 million in cash would cause Juventus to even consider letting Vidal leave.

Theories have abounded about potential part-exchange offers including the likes of Nani and Javier Hernandez, but a straight cash offer would be stretching United's capabilities and fears over Vidal's knee may stand in the way.

Tuttosport believes that Allegri will pick Vidal to take on AC Milan and Sassuolo in the annual TIM Trophy and sees him as integral to his 3-5-2 and 4-3-3 formations.

It is even suggested that a bid of £40 million could be rejected in any case because Juventus won't have time to find an adequate replacement.

However, Inter midfielder Fredy Guarin has been on the Juventus radar for some time and looks set to quit Inter, so he may be an emergency fallback.
