Liverpool transfer news, interest retained in Falcao, Agger attracts Atleti

Radamel Falcao

A selection of the latest transfer stories involving Liverpool Football Club this Tuesday morning.

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers still retains an interest in Monaco forward Radamel Falcao according to the Daily Telegraph.

The Reds' boss is still on the lookout for another striker before the end of the transfer window and are confident they will sign another forward before the window shuts in a couple of weeks' time.

Falcao's preference is understood to be a move to Real Madrid as he seeks a move away from Monaco, the European Champions could raise the funds for a move shortly before the window closes.

They also retain an interest in former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o, who is the subject of an offer from Ajax - and reportedly faces a dilemma over whether to accept the Dutch champions offer or wait for an approach from Liverpool.

The other major transfer story surrounding Liverpool between now and when the transfer window shuts is the future of vice-captain Daniel Agger.

It has been reported this month that Agger broke down in tears, and has told Brendan Rodgers he would like to leave the club after the club signed Dejan Lovren from Southampton this summer.

Lovren seems to be at the head of the pecking order after starting Liverpool's opening weekend win against the Saints, whilst Martin Skrtel, Mamadou Sakho and Kolo Toure are also competing for a centre-back slot.

Agger has attracted the interest of La Liga champions Atletico Madrid according to the Daily Mail as they could lose Diego Godin to Bayern Munich.
