Manchester City star arrives in Valencia ahead of La Liga move

Mestalla Valencia

Recently-recruited Manchester City midfielder Bruno Zuculini has reportedly arrived in Spain ahead of completing a season-long loan move to Valencia.

Manchester City’s newly-acquired Argentina under-20 international Bruno Zuculini is set to complete a temporary move to Valencia in Spain.

The 21-year-old signed for the Citizens last month but, with manager Manuel Pellegrini keen for the player to continue his development and play regular first-team football, a loan move away from the Etihad was always likely.

Reports had suggested that Deportivo La Coruna led the race to recruit the ex-Racing Club star, who scored 10 goals in 92 appearances for the Argentine giants prior to his Premier League move, but with no move confirmed Sunderland suddenly emerged as a surprise destination for the midfielder.

A move to the Black Cats was ultimately blocked, however, under Financial Fair Play legislation which forbids the purchase and immediate loan of a player out to another Premier League club.

Valencia now look set to complete a deal for the midfielder, who has travelled to Spain to complete the deal, which will see the Argentine move to the Mestalla for the coming season.

According to a report from Super Deportes the player and his representatives have touched down in the region as they prepare to iron out the details of the move.

Valencia are entering something of a new era, with Singapore business Peter Lim set to complete a takeover of the financially-stricken La Liga club.

Lim was previously linked with a bid to buy Liverpool, prior to the arrival of current American owner John Henry.

Zuculini will be tasked with helping Los Che make a return to the Champions League next season, with the club set to endure a season without European football for the first time since the 1997-98 campaign.

Regular appearances for Valencia could also help Zuculini force his way into Gerardo Martino’s plans for the Argentina national team ahead of next year’s Copa America in Chile.
