The Real Madrid star has been strongly linked with a move away from the club. Manchester United and PSG are rumoured to be interested.
Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos has said that he doesn't think Angel Di Maria is planning on leaving the club this summer - despite reports indicating that he will not be at the Bernabeu beyond September.
Di Maria featured as a second half substitute in last night's 1-1 draw with Atletico Madrid in the first leg of the Supercopa last night, and with Manchester United and Paris Saint Germain showing strong interest in the Argentine, Ramos believes the player wants to stay put.
Ramos is quoted by Inside Spanish Football, saying: “It’s clear that Di María was very good last season and that he is a player who is really loved by the fans. I’m not one for recommendations. We live in a democratic country. Di Maria knows what it is to be out and he’s at Real Madrid. I don’t think Di Maria’s intention is to leave and in my cause, I signed up to be here for life.”
Whether Di Maria wishes to stay or not, his future could be out of his hands given that he would command a significant fee. In another transfer window where Real Madrid have spent big on the likes of James Rodriguez from Monaco - the European Champions may be looking to recoup some of the money they have spent on their expensively assembled squad.
Rumours surrounding a possible switch to Old Trafford have been gathering pace as Manchester United are looking to invest in top class players before the transfer window shuts, as they look to improve under recently appointed Louis van Gaal, following last season's disappointing seventh-place finish which left them without European football altogether.
Where will Di Maria be when the transfer window shuts?
