Swansea sign Spurs midfielder Tom Carroll on season-long loan

Tom Carroll low quality

Swansea have signed Tottenham midfielder Tom Carroll on a season-long loan deal.

The Swans have done business with Spurs once again this summer as Tom Carroll has joined the club on a season-long loan deal.

Gylfi Sigurdsson moved back to Wales with the Swans earlier this summer, with Michel Vorm and Ben Davies heading in the opposite direction and Carroll has now made the switch for the season.

The 22-year-old spent last season on loan at Queens Park Rangers where he made 26 apperances to help the R's gain promotion to the Premier League.

A loan spell in the Premier League is exactly what Carroll needs to help his development and he is viewed by many as one of Tottenham's most talented youngsters.

A move to Swansea will suit Carroll as he enjoys to play possession football with plenty of quick and short passes - a style that Spurs also like to play.

Carroll has made 23 first-team appearances for Spurs but Mauricio Pochettino clearly feels that a loan move will give him a better opportunity to develop as a Premier League player.

Tottenham have so many options in midfield and now Carroll has the chance to prove himself as good enough to play a part in the Spurs first-team on a regular basis in the future.

Is Tom Carroll a good signing for Swansea?
