Looking to strengthen his attack, Queens Park Rangers boss Harry Redknapp is reportedly looking at EA Guingamp's Mustapha Yatabare.

Harry Redknapp and Queens Park Rangers continue their search for a striker this summer and EA Guingamp’s Mustapha Yatabare looks to be the next target according to French newspaper L’Equipe.

The London club already have five strikers at the club, but with Loic Remy’s future still undecided, Redknapp will be looking for some added fire power. Yatabare is 28, but has finally risen to the top of French football in the last 12 months.

Yatabare was key as Guingamp gained promotion from Ligue 2. He scored 23 goals in 35 games and looked every part the deadly striker. During his first season in Ligue 1, he adapted well and scored 11 goals in the top-flight as Guingamp surprised everyone by avoiding relegation back to the second tier.

The powerful striker was all set to move to Qatar this summer, but the move broke down at the very last moment and the forward has been welcomed back to the first-team, but is allowed to make a move if the right club makes an offer.

Clubs from Italy have shown an interest, but there are always apparent offers from both Lyon and Lille are apparently very close. Now it is up to Harry Redknapp to decide if he wants to make a move for the striker. It will always be a risk to take a 28-year-old from France to the Premier League, but Yatabare has the ability to adapt.

He has a big physical presence and he can power his way past defenders using a combination of strength and pace. He may miss some easy opportunities sometimes, but he usually able to find the back of the net.

QPR will receive more competition for the forward if Lille are able to sell Salomon Kalou this week, and perhaps the former Chelsea forward could be an option for Redknapp and both clubs would get what they want. Some would say Yatabare is a better goal-scorer than the Ivorian.

Kalou may have a better record than Yatabare, but the big striker gives the team so much more than the Lille striker. He is a team player and will be a great option to give QPR a presence upfront.

Should QPR take a chance on Mustapha Yatabare?
