Podolski posts video from Germany on Facebook hours before Everton game

Lukas Podolski Germany

Lukas Podolski appears to be in his hometown of Koln just hours before Arsenal are due to take on Everton in the Premier League.

Rumours about the future of Arsenal forward Lukas Podolski have been doing the rounds this week, and today they gained momentum - with many suggesting he will not feature for Arsenal against Everton this evening.

The likes of VfL Wolfsburg and Juventus have emerged as potential candidates in the past seven days and with first-team football not a given at Arsenal.

And it certainly does not look like Poldi is going to be playing for Arsenal today, as he posted this video on Facebook at 3pm today.

That certainly looks like Podolski is recording the fans of his beloved FC Koln before kick off in their opening Bundesliga game of the season against Hamburg. Podolski started his professional career at Koln and had a second spell at the club from 2009 till 2012 - when he joined Arsenal.

If he is to play this evening he is going to face one hell of a commute back from the RheinEnergie Stadion.

Of course it could be easy to read to much into this. Podolski along with Per Mertesacker and Mesut Ozil has been resting since his World Cup glory with Germany. It could be that he is still being given time to put his feet up, and has taken the opportunity to go see his boyhood club in action.

It could also be a generic video. He may not even be at the game, simply demonstrating his love for the club.

However, it could also be an indicator that fan favourite Podolski might be on his way out of The Emirates this summer.

Do you want Podolski to stay at Arsenal?
