Chelsea player ratings v Leicester: Courtois world-class, Hazard lethal

FIFA 15 Eden Hazard

Jose Mourinho's men made it two wins out of two in the Premier League thanks to goals from Eden Hazard and Diego Costa.

Thibaut Courtois - 9/10

The Belgian's contribution cannot possibly be overstated. Chelsea's second-half performance won them the match - but Courtois's brilliance in goal saved them from being at least two goals down before they got into their stride.

Branislav Ivanovic - 7/10

The Serb was a slow starter, just like the Blues as a whole. But, in the end, Ivanovic was just as effective going forward as he was against Burnley, setting Costa up for his first goal after latching onto a superb pass from Oscar.

Gary Cahill - 6.5/10

Didn't especially shine, particularly when being caught out by Leicester's pace on the break. Did, however, make several important interventions and held his line well to occasionally play David Nugent offside.

John Terry - 7/10

Led his side from the back as usual and showed strength in the tackle and conviction with his clearances.

Cesar Azpilicueta - 6.5/10

Not his greatest performance down the left-hand side - the opposite flank to his natural side - but the Spaniard still contributed both defensively and going forward.

Nemanja Matic - 6.5/10

The Serb undoubtedly played his part for his side, as he is often most effective when unnoticed. However, Matic didn't seem to control things from midfield as well as usual, with Leicester often threatening and not being contained - especially before half-time.

Cesc Fabregas - 7/10

Not quite his game-changing performance against Burnley but the flashes of brilliance were all there from Chelsea's £27 million summer signing. Fabregas almost scored and delivered some, at times, flawless passes.

Eden Hazard - 8.5/10

In the first half, the Belgian created more chances than anyone else on the pitch combined. In the second half, he scored a wondergoal. No wonder Hazard is the cover star on FIFA 15.

Oscar - 8/10

The Brazilian was quietly effective as he almost opened the scoring, hitting the post, and then changed the course of the game with a superb pass that led to the opening goal.

Andre Schurrle - 6/10

Not the German's best game in a Chelsea shirt, as his overly direct side was plain to see for everyone watching. Tried too many first-time shots when passes were the much better option.

Diego Costa - 7/10

Did very little all game but, with his second shot on target of the season, scored his second Premier League goal of the season. Exactly what a striker needs to be able to do - and what too many Blue strikers have failed to do over the years.

Substitutes

Ramires - 6/10

Came on for Schurrle after the opening goal.

Willian - 6/10

Worked hard as always after replacing Oscar.

Didier Drogba - 7/10

Did very little on-field but gets a seven simply for the manner in which he walked on when replacing Costa. Was given a standing ovation and made Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich smile when making his Stamford Bridge return.
