Arsenal star Lukas Podolski and Manchester United striker Javier Hernandez have both been linked with a move to Juventus.

Juventus are in the hunt for a new striker with Manchester United’s Javier Hernandez and Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski both linked with moves this summer.

Mexican international Hernandez has long been linked with a move away from Manchester after sliding down the the Old Trafford pecking order.

The 26-year-old has found his game-time at the club limited over the past 18 months as regular strikers Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney are being backed up by England international Danny Welbeck.

Chicharito’s lack of game-time has resulted in a loss of form as he scored just four Premier League goals last season, resulting in a number of rumours this summer linking him with a move to Serie A champions Juve.

According to Tuttomercato journalist Luca Marchetti, however, no contact between Juventus and the Red Devils has taken place as the Italian club are unwilling to invest much money.

“There has been no contact with Manchester United for Hernandez. Juventus do not want to invest so much, and the Mexican remains only a hypothesis that could change at the end of the market,” he writes.

In other reports, it has been said that Juventus are instead focusing their attentions on securing a deal for Arsenal striker Lukas Podolski.

Like Chicharito, the German international has often found himself limited to the bench at the Emirates despite his excellent goals-to-game ratio last season.

Sky Sports Italia claim that the Bianconeri have identified the Gunners’ star as their ideal low-cost signing and negotiations are expected to take place next week.

“Next week Juventus’ directors will find out from Arsenal if there are margins for a negotiation," the report states.

"While Juventus is very interested they would like to ensure it’s a low cost operation. At the moment Juventus prefers Podolski to Manchester United’s Hernandez because of his European experience and winning mentality."

Podolski scored eight goals in 20 Premier League appearances for Arsene Wenger’s side last season and helped the club win the FA Cup.

The 29-year-old’s impressive performances convinced Germany coach Joachim Low to take him to the World Cup where he returned from Brazil as a world champion.

Should Arsenal contemplate selling Lukas Podolski this summer?
