XCOM-style wild west game, Hard West, is fully funded

A Kickstarter campaign has recently been funded to create a wild west themed game inspired by XCOM and Heroes of Might and Magic.

Hard West is being developed by Polish devs CreativeForge, and it not only looks great, but it sounds ruddy fun too. With quick combat encounters that take no longer that 5-10 mins, they're 'short, bloody, and decisive. All it takes is one well laid shot. It’s just not that easy to put yourself in the proper position,' says the Kickstarter page.

Further descriptions of the exploration aspect go on to say, 'the world is packed with adventures, stories, treasures, hideouts, mysteries, secrets and surprises. It’s a box of gruesome chocolates. Events aim to astonish you with how bad or how good they are. There’s no mediocrity.' This definitely sounds like a game I could get behind.

Take a look at the Kickstarter campaign video, and the trailer, below to see how the game weaves the wild west with the horror of 'hell, devil, ghosts and curses.'

The project may have already been funded, but you can still contribute over on the Kickstarter page, as there are stretch goals which will add further content, versions for Mac and Linux, plus a couple of unannounced goals.

There are various rewards depending on how much you pledge to the project - some get you a copy of the game when it's released, whilst others will allow you to work with the devs to design a key character for the game.
