Manchester United's struggles at the beginning of the new season have continued today with a far from convincing 1-1 draw with Sunderland at The Stadium of Light.
But while it is obviously not the ideal start to their campaign under Louis van Gaal it is also worth noticing who is currently missing for the new boss. The club have a long list of injury problems and none of their main new signings played today - with Marcos Rojo ineligible and Ander Herrera and Luke Shaw both nursing injuries.
But of course that doesn't mean they weren't watching.,
Shaw was on Twitter today, and this is what he posted after Mata bagged United's opener on Wearside.

Of course United went on to concede to a Jack Rodwell header later in the first half and were also pretty poor, but look at this way Luke, you should have no trouble seeing Ashley Young out of team after his performance today.
Shaw, a £27 million arrival from Southampton this summer, is about three weeks away from recovery after suffering a hamstring injury in pre-season.
Will the return of Shaw help United's failings?
