Theo Walcott reacts to Arsenal’s draw with Everton in Premier League

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott has his say on his side’s 2-2 draw with Everton away from home in the Premier League on Saturday.

It looked all doom and gloom for Arsenal at half time against Everton on Saturday, as they were 2-0 down at Goodison Park in their Premier League clash.

The Toffees had taken the lead as early as the 19th minute when Seamus Coleman headed home unchallenged from a Gareth Barry delivery.

Then on the stroke of half time, Arsenal conceded the second goal of the contest, thanks to Steven Naismith finding the target after being played in by Romelu Lukaku.

However, the Gunners never gave up and earned a point thanks to two late goals. First Aaron Ramsey turned in Santi Cazorla's low cross on 83 minutes, and in the dying seconds Olivier Giroud headed home Nacho Monreal’s cross.

Arsenal forward Theo Walcott, who was not part of the matchday squad as he is still recovering from a knee injury, hailed his teammates’ spirit and character after the draw.

It was not supposed to be easy for Arsenal at the Goodison, but even then manager Arsene Wenger will be concerned with his side’s early-season struggles.

The North London club needed a last-minute winner from Ramsey against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium last weekend, and once again failed to hit top form on Saturday.

That Arsenal exhibited ‘great spirit’ against Everton cannot be ignored, but they need to improve their performances.
