Manchester United’s Tom Cleverley hasn’t done this in Premier League for seven months

Yet another shocking stat emerges about Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley’s recent performances in the Premier League.

One of the players severely criticised during Manchester United’s disastrous season of 2013-14 was Tom Cleverley.

Everything the midfielder did appeared to fail, as the 25-year-old ended up the following disappointing stats in the Premier League.

Cleverley has been on the books of United since 2000 and has been a full member of the Red Devils’ first team since the 2011-12 campaign.

In the past three years, the England international has made fewer than 60 Premier League appearances, and at the age of 25 he is not ‘young’ anymore.

Earlier this summer, there were suggestions that new United manager Louis van Gaal could sell the midfielder, but apparently he is still part of the Dutchman’s plans and started the league game against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on Sunday.

However, once again the United academy graduate failed to perform, as illustrated by his match stats below:

This was yet another league game in which Cleverley failed to hit the target – in fact, he has not had a shot on goal since February 1.

Cleverley was made a scapegoat for United’s failings last season, and he could be blamed once again this campaign if everything goes south. While it would not be completely fair on the Englishman, he has certainly a lot to improve upon.

Is Tom Cleverley the weakest player in the Manchester United squad?
