Arsenal transfer news: Wenger back in for Gustavo, Welbeck swoop before next week?

A round up of transfer stories this morning about Arsenal.

The Daily Mirror claims Arsene Wenger could revitalise his interest in Wolfsburg midfielder Luiz Gustavo.

Reports suggest that Wenger recently had the Brazilian midfielder watched as the Bundesliga returned to competitive action.

Arsenal have been hunting for a holding midfielder for most of the summer, seemingly no closer to a deal for Real Madrid’s Sami Khedira.

The Daily Express claims Arsenal will step up their pursuit of Manchester United star Danny Welbeck.

Welbeck is on the fringes of Louis van Gaal’s Manchester United side, not appearing to be first choice under the Dutchman.

Arsenal could be forced into a move following an injury to first choice striker Olivier Giroud.

Arsenal are reportedly set to swoop for Torino star Alessio Cerci as speculation grows over an exit for Lukas Podolski.

The 27-year-old is being tracked by several clubs with AC Milan and Atletico Madrid also thought to be interested in potential moves.

However, whether Arsenal need another versatile winger (who can play as a striker) is open for debate.
