French media clarify Cavani, Rabiot and Arsenal transfer news latest

Cavani 2

In the latest Arsenal transfer news, a bid has reportedly been made for a Paris-based footballer - but whom?

According to RMC Sport, Arsenal have not made a bid for Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani.

The French publication explain that a source close to the story at the Parc des Princes informed them that PSG have "repeatedly" explained that Cavani is "non-transferable".

However, that does not mean Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have not been in contact at all. It seems they have… just not over the potential transfer of superstar striker Cavani.

Midfielder Adrien Rabiot has been the subject of four bids, with two of the clubs revealed as Serie A side AS Roma and Premier League title challengers Arsenal.

Both of whom are reportedly "neck and neck" in the race for the player's signature.

"Two other clubs have submitted bids in recent hours as negotiations continue with PSG."

RMC Sport claim Arsene Wenger even called Rabiot, 19, himself in order to help sway the preciously-talented teenager to move to the Emirates Stadium.

Rabiot returned 39 tackles and 29 interceptions from 12 starts (and 13 as a substitute) in Ligue 1 competition last year. He has one year remaining on his contract.

Could the revelation that Wenger himself contacted Rabiot help sign the gifted youngster? Let us know in the comment section below.
