Arsenal loan star Benik Afobe sealed a historic victory for MK Dons at Stadium: MK last night, Tuesday, as the physically-adept forward made a nuisance of himself by scoring twice as a substitute en route to a landmark 4-0 triumph over Manchester United in the second round of the League Cup.
The home side's 30,500 capacity ground was almost completed filled as the official attendance reached 26,969 - their highest figure for a decade - and they all had reason to cheer as Will Grigg and Afobe both returned a brace-a-piece.
Having already scored twice, Grigg played provider in the Dons's third, as he played an exquisite assist into Afobe's path in order for the Kent forward to find the goal.
Fourteen minutes later he struck again as he ran past a lifeless United defence.
News of his exploits swiftly circulated through social media, with Hector Bellerin posting a message to "his boy".
Bellerin said: "My boy Benik scoring for MK Dons! Yeah lad!"
