A couple of tweets appeared from the Minecraft developers yesterday, which reassured players they're still working hard on ironing out the PS4 and Xbox One versions of the game.
The game was due for release this month, however it's pretty unlikely that'll happen now. The PS4 version failed certification from Sony last week.

However, the devs have confirmed the game has been sent back to Sony for final testing, so if all is well we could be seeing a release in early September.

4J also tweeted they hope the Xbox One version of the game will be handed over to Microsoft by the end of this week, as they're 'down to the last few bugs'.

An update for the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game is also being tested right now, which will allow players to transfer their saves from those consoles to the PS4 and Vita, and Xbox One respectively.
