Rumour - GTA V on PS4, Xbox One and PC could be a 2015 release

Rockstars Games are cutting it short to build up momentum for a fall release of GTA V, but does that mean it's been delayed?

More rumours emerge about the release date of the long-awaited PC, PS4, and Xbox One versions of Rockstar's GTA V. VG247 has reported on 'plenty of chatter' at Gamescom a couple of weeks ago surrounding the game's release.

They claim that a 'Fall 2014' launch for the title is 'unlikely'. In the video below from VG247's Patrick Garratt, he speaks of GTA V and the rumours he heard at the Gamescom event in Germany, saying;

'I spent a lot of time with PRs and publishers at the show, and there was a lot of talk about the PS4, Xbox One, and PC versions of GTA 5 being delayed.'

Mentioning the fact we saw the reveal for the current gen and PC iteration at Sony's E3 conference, but not a peep of the game during Sony's Gamescom conference, Garratt also says he interviewed Michael Denny, VP of Sony Worldwide Studios Europe the day after their Gamescom conference. He asked Denny whether we can read into the fact GTA V wasn't mentioned at all, saying Denny responded by saying that 'we shouldn't, and that there was nothing to say about it at that point as there was simply nothing to add after E3.'

So far it just seems like hearsay and speculation, but Garrat says that it was confirmed the PS4, Xbox One and PC versions of GTA V were at Gamescom, but they were only being shown to retailers behind closed doors, and not journalists.

Garrat closes off by stating that journalists are usually the last to know about anything happening in the world of video games, and that retailers see everything first because publishers need to sell their games into stores. Plus retailers need to plan ahead for big releases and large influxes of new games, especially around the busy autumn/winter season. Have a look at the video below and let us know what you think.

The video makes some solid points, but we're just going to have to wait and see. If we get through fall/autumn and there's still no sign of the game, then we can probably bet it's going to be a 2015 release. But, until then, we'll just have to wait it out.
