Planned maintenance to take place this Thursday following PSN disruption from DDoS attack over the weekend
PlayStation Network maintenance originally planned for bank holiday Monday is to take place on Thursday 28th August instead state Sony.
In the US the maintenance window will run from 9:40am to 4:50pm Pacific Time (12:40pm to 7:50pm Eastern Time). In the UK PSN will be taken down for work through the night of 28th August from from 4:00pm to 5:00am on 29th August.
Due to a distributed denial of service attack which took place over the weekend PSN was brought to a standstill ahead of planned maintenance work to take place on 25th August.
"We expect this maintenance to last approximately 7 hours," say Sony. "During this time we will deploy a series of back-end improvements to the network.
"If you've signed in to the network any time since August 23rd you will be able to play games online and access partner apps such as Netflix during this maintenance period. The PlayStation Store, PlayStation Home and Account Management will not be available during this time, and users may receive a maintenance notification when attempting to access these services."
