All the latest news and gossip from the past 24 hours at The Emirates.
This morning it was being reported that Real Madrid were ready to win the race for Colombian hitman Radamel Falcao. Now it is being reported that they have pulled out of the deal. Falcao is desperate to leave AS Monaco, even though it will reportedly only be on a season long loan deal.
But Real have pulled out of the deal because of the massive amount it will cost them to have him for one season - reportedly a fee in the £20 million region.
Juventus have held the first concrete discussions with the player's agent about his availability but Arsenal and Manchester City are also said to be keen.
Arsenal are without lead striker Olivier Giroud until January after he broke the base of his tibia and despite Wenger insisting the club do not need to buy another striker they are expected to dive into the market for reinforcements.
Watch out commentators because one of the most difficult to pronounce names in eorld football is edging closer and closer to an Emirates switch. Arsenal's interest in Greek international Sokratis Papastathoppulos, Sokratis to you and me, was first reported yesterday and it is now believed they are getting somwhere with their approach for the Borussia Dortmund star.
It is believed the club have now held talks with his agent over a move for the player.
A £10.9 million bid was lodged yesterday but that falls short of Dortmund's valuation, although the Bundesliga side are open to his exit.
Finally and Arsene Wenger has provided an injury update on some of his players, with a loan deal for Serge Gnabry all but ruled out after the latest news.
He claimed that Mikel Arteta, Kieran Gibbs and David Ospina would all come up a little shirt of match fitness for the game with Leicester City this weekend - but it certainly sounded like he was happy with their progress.
But on Gnabry he stated:
“Serge Gnabry is on a good way but is nowhere near to being back in the group.”
Is Falcao worth a £20m loan?
