Chelsea transfer news: Torres out, £8.5m star in? Costa injury latest and more

Stamford Bridge

All the latest Chelsea transfer news including Fernando Torres, Loic Remy and Diego Costa.

All the latest talk surrounding Chelsea has concerned strikers: who is going, who is staying and, perhaps even more importantly, who will be fit to start what is one of the trickiest fixtures of the Premier League calendar - Everton at Goodison Park.

According to the Daily Mail, Fernando Torres's "nightmare" at Stamford Bridge is over as AC Milan have recruited the player on a two-year loan deal.

The club that have made the move possible are, ironically, England rivals Liverpool, as the transfer of Mario Balotelli to Anfield prompted Milan to turn to Torres as the Italian's replacement.

While the player had two years remaining on his contract at Chelsea, if the loan deal transpires, then it would effectively mean the Spaniard would be a free agent after his temporary stay in Serie A.

"Sources in Italy", meanwhile, claim a free transfer has already happened.

With AS Roma president declaring £20 million Chelsea target Mattie Destro "not for sale", the West Londoners may be forced to look elsewhere in the market with a "cut-price move" for £8.5 million QPR star Loic Remy apparently on the cards.

Ahead of the club's trip to Everton tomorrow, Saturday, manager Jose Mourinho was given an injury boost as it appears Diego Costa, who was included in the match-day squad anyway, will be "passed fit" for the Toffees test.

And finally, fringe striker Patrick Bamford has joined Middlesbrough on loan after previous loan spells at MK Dons and Derby County.
