Here are five of the best players linked with moves to Liverpool over the past week.
Liverpool have added well to their squad throughout the summer and there is still a chance Brendan Rodgers could dip back into the transfer market following the club’s Champions League draw.
The latest addition, Mario Balotelli, stank of great value for money and that’s just what the Reds will be looking for should they make any more purchases before Monday’s deadline.
We’ve taken a look at five of the best players linked with joining the club this past week.
Marco Reus (Borussia Dortmund)
The highly rated German midfielder continues to be linked with a move to Anfield. He could be available next year but the Reds are thought to be keen on trying to do a deal in the current transfer window but BVB have insisted he won’t be going anywhere.
Radamel Falcao (Monaco)
The Colombian striker has been linked with plenty of sides over the course of the summer. The fact any team looking to sign him on loan will have to pay £10 million for the privilege seems to be putting sides off from making moves. Liverpool could go after a late swoop although the deal for Balotelli means they may hold off.
Alex Song (Barcelona)
The former Arsenal man has been linked with several top Premier League clubs this past week and Liverpool are one of them. He would inject experience into the Reds’ midfield and make them a much more difficult side to get the better of in physical battles.
Eder Balanta (River Plate)
The Colombian defender was first linked with the club last week. Those links haven’t gone away with reports this week suggesting that the Reds could sign him for a fee of under £5 million which would again represent great value for money for the club.
Mathias Pinto (Universidad)
Pinto is rated as one of the biggest teenage talents in South American football. Reports from earlier this week revealed that the Reds have taken him on trial as they mull over whether to offer him a permanent deal to stay at Anfield and progress through the club’s youth system.
Do you expect Liverpool to sign anyone else this summer?
