Juventus will be looking to kick off their 2014-15 Serie A campaign on a winning note against Chievo in Verona, and Manchester United target Arturo Vidal will start the game.
The Chile international has overcome the knee injury that troubled him at the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and for much of pre-season. Vidal participated in the Tim Trophy and has been training normally with his teammates for the past few days.
Ahead of Juventus’s opening game of the Serie A season against Chievo away from home on Saturday, the Italian champions’ coach Massimiliano Allegri revealed that the former Bayer Leverkusen star will start against the Flying Donkeys.
‘We trained well today and we’ll look to get off to a good start tomorrow night’, Football Italia quotes the Italian tactician as saying on Friday. ‘Marchiso will take Pirlo’s place in front of the defence. Vidal’s trained well this week, his knee’s in good condition and he will start tomorrow night’.
Vidal himself looks ready for the new season and publicly committed his future to Juventus by posting the following message on social networking site Twitter.
United have been linked with a move for the 27-year-old for the entire summer, but with Monday’s deadline fast approaching, it appears that the Red Devils have lost in their hunt for one of the best midfielders in the world.
However, Juventus fans will have no complaints, as with Vidal in their side, they will be confident of winning the Scudetto yet again.
Should Manchester United have tried harder for Arturo Vidal?
