Everton Goodison Aerial

Chelsea made it three wins out of three in the Premier League with a thrilling 6-3 victory over Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday.

Chelsea got the better of Everton 6-3 at Goodison Park on Saturday to maintain their perfect start to the 2014-15 Premier League campaign.

Jose Mourinho’s side surged ahead after just 35 seconds when Diego Costa scored his third league goal of the campaign with a close-range shot after latching onto Cesc Fabregas’s through-ball.

Branislav Ivanovic made it 2-0 to Chelsea in the third minute with a right-footed attempt from inside the Everton penalty box after collecting Ramires’s pass.

However, Everton went into the half-time interval with hopes of staging a comeback after Kevin Mirallas headed home Seamus Coleman’s cross to halve the deficit.

Things started to get hugely entertaining midway through the second half when Coleman scored an own goal to seemingly give the game away to Chelsea.

Steven Naismith scored for the Toffees just minutes later, only for Nemanja Matic to fire home Chelsea’s fourth goal of the evening from outside the Everton penalty area.

Former Chelsea striker Samuel Eto'o headed home Leighton Baines’s delivery from the centre of the box to make it 4-3, but Ramires found the target in the very next minute for the Blues.

There was still time for Chelsea to add a sixth goal, as Costa scored his second of the evening with a cool finish after being teed up by John Obi Mikel.
