Arsenal defender Laurent Koscielny explains the impact that winning the FA Cup has made on the team.

Arsenal went nine years without winning any major trophies, but after clinching the FA Cup in May, they want more.

That’s because they have got a taste of success and are determined to win more silverware, says star defender Laurent Koscielny, who joined the Premier League giants from Lorient in the summer of 2010 for a reported transfer fee of £10 million.

‘We won the FA Cup last season and I think that was very important for the players, the club and the fans’, the 28-year-old France international centre-back told Arsenal’s official website.

‘We are under no pressure this season about winning a trophy. Now we just want to win more because now we’ve started to taste [what winning a trophy is like], and we want to have more'.

The Gunners won the FA Cup at London’s Wembley Stadium in May in thrilling fashion. Opponents Hull City went 2-0 up after just eight minutes, but Arsenal staged a comeback and eventually won the final 3-2 in extra time.

Earlier this month, manager Arsene Wenger tasted more trophy success at Wembley as Arsenal eased to a 3-0 victory over Premier League champions Manchester City in the FA Community Shield.

However, Arsenal remain without Premier League success since 2004 and have not yet won the Champions League. Conquering Europe is not very likely anytime soon, but the North London club do have a chance of winning the league title this campaign.

Although Arsenal dropped two points against Everton at Goodison Park last weekend, winning against Leicester City away from home on Sunday will enhance their confidence and give them added impetus in their quest to become the champions of England again.
